The best countries for Expats

InterNations, the world's biggest Expat network, recently published a ranking of the best countries to emigrate. Said ranking is made by surveying thousands of expats around the world about the easiness of adaptation thanks to security, living expenses, transportation, recreational activities, work opportunities and social life.

The 2022 ranking is led by Spain, with two cities, Madrid and Valencia, in the top 5. Both cities stand out for their safety, good public transportation services, and the amount of recreational and sport related activities they offer. Spain is a friendly country, that allows you to travel not only throughout the country but trough the European continent easily and at accessible prices.

Madrid

Dubai takes the second place, with its modern infrastructure, its gastronomy and job opportunities helping it become a popular destination among Expats from all over the world. Dubai's main attraction (and in general, the UAE's main one), is that there are no applied taxes to foreign residents.

Regarding LatinAmerica, Mexico City is considered the friendliest city and with the most facilites given to Expats. There are plenty job opportunities and salaries in Mexico City are higher than the region's mean, allowing their residents to enjoy a great life quality.

CDMX

Also leading the ranking are Taiwan, Costa Rica, Portugal and Malaysia. They share a low cost of living, safety, and a wide variety of recreational activities. The happiness of the expats is a very important factor when deciding what the best places are, and all of these countries rank high in this category.

Now, it is true that all these countries offer a great life quality, nonetheless, this does not mean that moving there is an easy process. Therefore, we've added another category to this list:

The countries that offer most facilities and benefits to the foreigners willing to move

The countries that give more facilities for foreigners to move there permanently are located in Europe. In specific, Belgium and Portugal allow foreigners to visit the country as tourists for 90 days, and if during their stay they are able to find a job, they can stay with a work visa. This is a great incentive to migrate there.

Australia is also a part of this list since it offers a wide variety of programs to work or study that allow foreigners to stay in the country for an extended time period. The requirements to enroll in the famously known working holiday program in Australia are: the ability to speak english and having finished at least to years of a college degree. With these two things checked, you'll be able to move and work there legally. If you want to check all options to move as an Expat to Australia, check the following link.

Australia

Malta is another Europea country that offers facilities to those wishing to migrate and work. Specially during the summer, there are a lot of job opportunities in the tourism field. Costs of living are low, and your employer can offer you a work visa for 6 months or a year, with the possibility to extend said time period. Additionally, this small country's Health System ranks in the world top 5.

In LatinAmerica, Panama has become famous as an Expat destination because of its easy immigration policies, progress and safety. There are plenty of job offers, a good health system and great chances to move there.

Something big to have in mind before applying to a Visa

Many of the above mentioned countries, like Spain and Australia, require having health insurance before applying to the visa.

And even if the country you're interested in doesn't require it for the visa, it is very important for you to hire one in case of an accident or medical emergency when abroad.

An international health insurance offers global coverage for 12 months or more, making it an ideal option for expats planning to live and work abroad.
